Since the Spring of 2009,  in partnership with Widener University, 12 Philadelphia-area high school lacrosse teams boys and girls compete in our Rivalry Games.  The event is dedicated to remembering the life and legacy of HEADstrong’s founder, Nicholas Colleluori, while promoting the importance of giving back within the community.

The Rivalry Games are just part of a family of events run by the HEADstrong Foundation, which raises money and awareness for blood cancer research as well as helping those afflicted by the disease.  Each of the teams keep with HEADstrong tradition through conducting blood cancer awareness campaigns on their respective campuses by distributing literature, educating the student body about the HEADstrong Foundation and selling official HEADstrong t-shirts.

This event has generated over $90,000 and provides local lacrosse players with the opportunity to make a difference.  During the HEADstrong presentation, each program is recognized for their commitment to the Foundation.  Additionally, one player from each team is selected to receive the Nicholas Colleluori Award, someone who is Nick-like demonstrating leadership and sportsmanship.

The event is held on Easter Saturday at Widener University in Chester, PA.
